GARDEN MAINTENANCE

I've been gardening for 35 years
I like gardens and gardening
In my long experience the most important thing is for people to simply feel comfortable in their own surroundings
What's there not to like about a garden

Things Grow!

And there's the catch! but this can be the enjoyable bit as well
Think of your garden as another room in the house
Occasionally it just needs a bit of a touch up or repainting to give it a fresh feel and bring back some vibrancy
Just a quick mow of the lawn or weeding or a hedge cut makes you garden feel a more inviting place
Welcome back into your garden

ABOUT

I've been involved with landscaping for 35 years
I've worked in several areas around the south of England
The New Forest, Wiltshire and Essex
Each area has a surprisingly different approach needed to create and maintain each garden.
The new Forest is predominantly stony acid soil
Building materials might commonly include Purbeck Stone and plants need to be ericaceous to thrive, rhododendrons and heather for example
Wiltshire is predominantly alkaline chalk and green sand
Rural gardens have a very cottage garden style requiring alkaline tolerant plants
Essex is flat! with predominantly clay soil
Clay soil can be a challenge in every way!
As a garden designer it's a very exciting prospect to create an entirely new garden and one that will define that space for a considerable time in the future
It's a privilege to be asked to do this
Large gardens always require extensive thought and consideration on many levels
A small garden with a small budget requires no less consideration
Creativity and resourcefulness’ and consideration are the key

Tim has a BSc in Landscape and Garden Design 2004 (Writtle ARU)
And Ma in Art and Design 2014 (Writtle ARU)
